Beauty queens will continue their residency at the Davenport Theatre.
Pageant — The Musical has announced another extension of its off-Broadway run at the Davenport Theatre. The production, which began performances on June 29 in advance of an official July 14 opening, will now run through October 26. The show was originally set to run through September 1 and was extended earlier this summer through September 21.
Based around a beauty pageant, the musical is written by Bill Russell and Frank Kelly, with music by Albert Evans and concept by Robert Longbottom. The production is directed by Matt Lenz, with choreography by Shea Sullivan and music direction by Mark Hartman.
The cast features comedian Kevin Meaney, Nick Cearley, Alex Ringler, Marty Thomas, Seth Tucker, Curtis Wiley, and Nic Cory. The musical played a sold-out run earlier this year at the Red Lacquer Club at Lucky Cheng's as a benefit for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
The show's design includes costumes by Stephen Yearick, scenic design by Paul DePoo, lighting by Paul Miller, and sound by David Sanderson.
