Davis joins the cast at the Ambassador Theatre.
Longtime Chicago veteran Paige Davis will return to the musical — and the role of Roxie Hart — beginning January 31. Davis has been appearing in the show on and off since 2004, both on Broadway and on tour.
Featuring classic tunes by John Kander and Fred Ebb, Chicago tells the story of Roxie Hart, a nightclub dancer who murders her on-the-side lover after he threatens to walk out on her. Desperate to avoid conviction, she dupes the public, the media, and her rival cellmate, Velma Kelly, by hiring Chicago's slickest criminal lawyer to transform her crime into a barrage of sensational headlines. The current revival, directed by Walter Bobbie, is now in its 19th year on Broadway.
The Broadway cast is currently led by Rumer Willis as Roxy Hart and Amra Faye Wright as Velma Kelly. They appear alongside Raymond Bokhour as Amos Hart, NaTasha Yvette Williams as Matron "Mama" Morton, and R. Lowe as Mary Sunshine.
