The knighted star of stage and screen did his part to make Brooklyn sidewalks just a little easier to navigate.
Last week, a Brooklyn brownstone dweller thought, "Look at all this junk I own. Maybe I'll make a few bucks by putting it all out in front of my house where it will obstruct foot traffic and people will pay me and then take it away."
Little did that person know that Jean-Luc Picard himself would wander by on the hunt for inexpensive and tacky paraphernalia with which to adorn his dressing room at the Cort Theatre (where he will soon star opposite best buddy Ian McKellen in No Man's Land and Waiting for Godot). But that's exactly what went down. So if you notice a little extra sparkle in Didi's eyes next time you're at the Cort, it's probably because of his recent nuptials, but it might also have something to do with this terrible lamp.
