Sarah Jessica Parker, Nathan Lane, and more were on hand to welcome the A.R. Gurney comedy to the Great White Way.
The Broadway premiere of A.R. Gurney's 1995 comedy Sylvia celebrated its opening night at the Cort Theatre on October 27.
Sylvia stars Tony winners Matthew Broderick and Julie White as a couple whose marriage is torn apart by the arrival of a dog named Sylvia (played by Tony Award winner Annaleigh Ashford). Robert Sella completes the cast. Daniel Sullivan directs. The play premiered off-Broadway in 1995 at Manhattan Theatre Club in a production that starred Blythe Danner, Charles Kimbrough, and Sarah Jessica Parker, Broderick's wife.
