David Henry Hwang's Tony-winning play M. Butterfly made its official Broadway return last night, celebrating the opening of Julie Taymor's revival production at the Cort Theatre. Clive Owen and Jin Ha lead the cast as Rene Gallimard and Song Liling, the French diplomat and mysterious Chinese opera singer at the center of the play's gender-bending love story, based on the real-life love affair between Bernard Boursicot and Shi Pei Pu.
