On Monday, March 28, the
Longacre Theatre took a break from it’s usual fair for
Angela Lansbury and Friends Salute Terrence McNally, a benefit for The Acting Company. The event was directed by Tony Award winner John Doyle and featured musical direction by Mary Mitchell Campbell.
Performers included Stephen Bogardus, Alan Cumming, Tyne Daly, Jason Danieley, Joyce DiDonato, Raul Esparza, Edie Falco, Manoel Felciano, Malcolm Gets, John Glover, Marin Mazzie, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Roger Rees, Bobby Steggert, Alexandra Silber, Emily Skinner, and Barbara Walsh.
The event featured selections from such McNally works as The Lisbon Traviata, Love! Valour! Compassion! Corpus Christi, Master Class, Frankie & Johnnie in the Clair de Lune, Unusual Acts of Devotion, Dedication, A Man of No Importance, The Rink, Ragtime, The Full Monty and Kiss of The Spider Woman.
Guests at the event included McNally’s husband, producer Tom Kirdahy, as well as Marian Seldes, Allyson Tucker, Pia Lindstrom, Jenny Powers, Matt Cavenaugh, Dana Ivey, Jack Cummings III, and Jeremy Shamos.
