The cast and creative team behind the upcoming Broadway production of Newsies met the press on Thursday, February 16 at the historic Liberty Theater on 42nd Street.
The event opened with a Q&A featuring Jeremy Jordan and the ensemble of newsboys, hosted by Disney Theatrical Productions president Thomas Schumacher.
Jordan stars in the musical, which features a book by Harvey Fierstein and a score by Alan Menken and Jack Feldman. The principal cast also includes John Dossett, Kara Lindsay, Capathia Jenkins, Ben Fankhauser, Andrew Keenan-Bolger, Lewis Grosso and Matthew Schecter.
Featured in the ensemble are Aaron J. Albano, Mark Aldrich, Tommy Bracco, John E. Brady, Ryan Breslin, Kevin Carolan, Caitlyn Caughell, Kyle Coffman, Mike Faist, Michael Fatica, Julie Foldesi, Garrett Hawe, Thayne Jasperson, Evan Kasprzak, Jess LeProtto, Stuart Marland, Andy Richardson, Jack Scott, Ryan Steele, Brendon Stimson, Nick Sullivan, Ephraim Sykes, Laurie Veldheer, Alex Wong and Stuart Zagnit.
Jeff Calhoun directs the production, which features choreography by Christopher Gatelli. Newsies begins performances March 15 at the Nederlander Theater in advance of a March 29 opening.
