Musical theater legend Julie Andrews and basketball player Kareem Abdul-Jabbar were honored with the Lincoln Medal at Ford’s Theatre Society’s annual gala, entitled “Lincoln’s Legacy and a New Era of Hope” on Sunday, June 5, at Ford’s Theatre.
Vice-president Joe Biden delivered remarks at the gala, which was hosted by Richard Dreyfuss.
The event also featured appearances or performances by Michael Arden, Scott Bakula, Avery Brooks, Christopher B. Corrigan, Jeremy Gumbs, Joshua Henry, Kellee Knighten Hough, Kevin McAllister, Michael McElroy, Anika Noni Rose, David Selby, and Michael Urie, along with cast members from Ford’s Theatre’s production of Liberty Smith: Christopher Bloch, Geoff Packard, Donna Migliaccio and Bobby Smith.
