Find out what’s on the list for the Los Angeles-based theater in 2016 and 2017.
Los Angeles' Geffen Playhouse has announced its 2016-17 season.
Kicking things off, from September 6-October 16, is Robert O'Hara's Barbecue. Next up, running from October 11-November 20, is Donald Margulies' The Model Apartment, directed by Evan Cabnet, who helmed an acclaimed 2013 New York production for Primary Stages.
Icebergs, written by Alena Smith and directed by Randall Arney, will run from November 8-December 18. Benjamin Scheuer's acclaimed solo show The Lion, directed by Sean Daniels, will follow from January 4-February 19, 2017.
Matthew Lopez's comedy The Legend of Georgia McBride will see its West Coast premiere from April 4-May 14, with Mike Donahue, who directed the 2015 New York premiere at MCC Theater, repeating his work in Los Angeles. The season concludes with the L.A. premiere of Nick Payne's Constellations, running from June 6-July 16.
