The off-Broadway company celebrated its 30th anniversary at 583 Park Avenue.
Primary Stages celebrated its 30th anniversary gala on Monday, November 3, at 583 Park Ave. The annual celebration honored producer Julian Schlossberg and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Donald Margulies.
The evening featured performances and tributes by Tony nominee Nick Cordero (performing from Bullets Over Broadway, which Schlossberg produced), Charles Busch, Judy Gold, David Ives, the creators of In Transit, Tony winner Frank Langella, Elaine May, Tony winner Billy Porter, Marlo Thomas, Rachel York, and others.
Margulies' numerous works include Time Stands Still (Tony nomination), Dinner With Friends (Pulitzer Prize), Brooklyn Boy, Sight Unseen (Pulitzer finalist), Collected Stories (Pulitzer finalist), and The Country House, now running at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre. In recent years, Primary Stages has produced Margulies' plays The Model Apartment and Shipwrecked! An Entertainment.
Schlossberg's many theatrical productions include Bullets Over Broadway, Relatively Speaking, Sly Fox, Fortune's Fool, After the Night and the Music, Adult Entertainment, The Right Kind of People (Primary Stages), and more.
