The new play by Eboni Booth will have its off-Broadway world premiere with Roundabout Theatre Company.
Roundabout Theatre Company has announced complete casting for Primary Trust, a world-premiere play by Eboni Booth and directed by Knud Adams. Performances will run from May 4-July 2 at the Laura Pels Theater with an official opening on May 25.
As previously announced, Emmy nominee William Jackson Harper (The Good Place) and April Matthis (The Piano Lesson) will lead the cast as "Kenneth" and "Wally's Waiter." They are joined by Eric Berryman (Toni Stone) as "Bert" and Jay O. Sanders (Girl From the North Country) as "Clay."
Primary Trust follows Kenneth, a 36-year-old bookstore worker who spends his evenings sipping mai tais with his best friend Bert at a local tiki bar. When he's suddenly laid off, Kenneth is encouraged by a quirky waiter (Matthis) to face a world he's long avoided – with transformative and even comical results.
The creative team includes Marsha Ginsberg (sets), Qween Jean (costumes), Isabella Byrd (lighting), and Mikaal Sulaiman (sound).
