Gingold Theatrical Group announced the final installment of its 12th season of Project Shaw: a concert presentation of Oscar Wilde's A Woman of No Importance, to take place on Monday, December 18, at 7pm at Symphony Space.

Charlotte Moore will direct a cast that includes Reed Birney, Cynthia Darlow, Annie Golden, Andrea Lynn Green, Tim Jerome, Jay Armstrong Johnson, Robert Langdon Lloyd, Martha Plimpton, Margaret Loesser Robinson, Thom Sesma, and Jennifer Van Dyke. Moore will also narrate the production.

"Oscar Wilde wasn’t generally known as a social activist," Gingold Theatrical Group artistic director David Staller said in a statement, "but with this play, amidst the sparkling wit and memorable epigrams, Wilde makes a bold statement about the Society’s inequities between the rights and expectations of men and women. It’s a comedy so, of course, the woman in question gets the last word!"

Project Shaw aims to present performances of every one of George Bernard Shaw's 65 plays live. They are now also including plays by writers like Oscar Wilde who most inspired Shaw to begin his playwriting career.
