Star Julie White was on hand to judge the adorable canines who may get to appear on the Great White Way.
Auditions were held on Monday, August 3 for the upcoming Broadway production of A.R. Gurney's Sylvia.The production was on a quest to find a puppy who will serve as canine counterpart for Annaleigh Ashford's character, a talking dog called Sylvia. The selected dog will have its picture built into the set, and the photo will be revealed at the end of every performance during a scene where Sylvia's owner looks at a photo of her.
The panel of judges will be made up of members of the cast and creative team, including Tony-winning actress Julie White, Tony-nominated set designer David Rockwell, Tony-winning director Daniel Sullivan, and two-time Pulitzer Prize-nominated playwright A.R. Gurney.
Tony winner Matthew Broderick and Julie White lead the cast of Sylvia as a couple whose marriage is torn apart by Sylvia's arrival. Robert Sella completes the company. Previews will begin October 2 in advance of the October 27 at the Cort Theatre.
