Andy Sandberg directs the new “secret” musical by Katie Thompson, Adam Jackman, and Patrick Livingston.
The new musical R.R.R.E.D., featuring music and lyrics by Katie Thompson, and a book by Thompson, Adam Jackman, and Patrick Livingston, celebrated opening night on Sunday, August 19, at the DR2 Theatre.
The musical stars Thompson as Victoria and Matt Loehr as GJ, with Marissa Rosen as Stephanie Hicks, and Kevin Zak as Craig, with additional guest stars appearing in each performance.
The plot of R.R.R.E.D. is described as follows: "By the year 2100, the recessive gene that causes red-hair may cease to exist. Now, in the year 2018, a secret redheaded revolutionary organization is taking matters into their own hands, fighting back against their imminent extinction and standing up for the rights of redheads everywhere."
Directed by Andy Sandberg and choreographed by Shea Sullivan, the creative team is made up of Charlie Corcoran (scenic design), Jake DeGroot (lighting design), Michael McDonald (costume design), David Sanderson (sound design), Dan Scully (production design), Rodney Bush (music direction), and John D'Orazio (hair and wigs).
R.R.R.E.D. is running in repertory with Neurosis, also directed by Sandberg and choreographed by Sullivan, at the DR2 Theatre.
