New York City
New York City’s holiday tradition extends due to audience demand.
The Madison Square Garden Company announced today an extension for the 2018 production of the Christmas Spectacular Starring the Radio City Rockettes, now running through January 6, 2019 at Radio City Music Hall. Tickets for the 10 additional performances are now on sale.
The 2018 Christmas Spectacular, which began performances November 9, features a brand-new finale scene, Christmas Lights, and immersive, digital projections from Obscura Digital, in addition to the classic numbers that have made the production a beloved holiday tradition. The grand-finale sequence is directed by Tony nominee Sam Buntrock (Sunday in the Park With George), with costumes by Emilio Sosa.
In addition to contributing to the finale, Obscura Digital, which MSG acquired in 2017, has created all-new digital projections for fan favorite numbers, such as "The 12 Days of Christmas," "Nutcracker," and "Here Comes Santa Claus," and expanded the projections for "New York at Christmas." The projections transport audiences from their seats right to the center of the action – from the North Pole, to Central Park, to a manger in Bethlehem.
