New York City
The three-time Tony nominee will appear alongside Sinéad Cusack, Peter Egan, Clare Higgins, and Daniel Lapaine.
Full casting has been announced for the U.K. premiere of Jon Robin Baitz's Other Desert Cities, which is set to begin performances at Old Vic Theatre on Thursday 13, with an opening on March 24. Lindsay Posner will direct.
The new production will star Sinéad Cusack (Rock 'n' Roll), Peter Egan, Clare Higgins, Daniel Lapaine, and three-time Tony Award nominee Martha Plimpton (The Coast of Utopia).
Other Desert Cities ran for 261 performances at Broadway's Booth Theatre during the 2011-12 season, earning a Tony Award nomination for Best Play. The story follows a once-promising novelist who comes home for the holidays with a manuscript that explores an explosive chapter in the family's history. The memoir opens old family wounds and tests childhood memories as the Wyeth clan learns that some secrets cannot stay buried forever.
The play is the first in a new season of productions that will be presented in the round at The Old Vic, whose renovated space was first seen in the award-winning 2008 production of The Norman Conquests.
