Jones and Stroker will star in ”Oklahoma!”
Rebecca Naomi Jones and Damon Daunno will star in the upcoming St. Ann's Warehouse production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's Oklahoma!. Directed by Daniel Fish, previews will begin September 27.
Inspired by Fish's 2015 production at Bard College, this reimagined Oklahoma! brings audiences and artists together under the vast canopy of St. Ann's Warehouse and makes this classic musical feel as though it were written for today's America. The company will feature Bard cast members Daunno (Curly), Mary Testa (Aunt Eller), Patrick Vaill (Jud Fry), James Patrick Davis (Will Parker), Mallory Portnoy (Gertie Cummings), and Mitch Tebo (Andrew Carnes) alongside Rebecca Naomi Jones (Laurey), Ali Stroker (Ado Annie), Michael Nathanson (Ali Hakim), Anthony Cason (Cord), and Will Mann (Mike).
The creative team includes Daniel Kluger (new orchestrations, arrangements, and music supervision), John Heginbotham (new choreography), Nathan Koci (music direction), Laura Jellinek (scenic design, based on an original concept by John Conklin), Terese Wadden (costume design), Scott Zielinski (lighting design), Drew Levy (sound design), and Joshua Thorson (projection design).
St. Ann's has also announced two additional productions. Eric Berryman and the Wooster Group's The B-Side: "Negro Folklore from Texas State Prisons," A Record Album Interpretation will run March 1-24 under the direction of Kate Valk and with design by Elizabeth LeCompte.
And Peaky Blinders star Cillian Murphy will take the stage in Max Porter's Grief is the Thing With Feathers, adapted and directed by Enda Walsh. Performances run April 20-May 12.
