Red Roses, Green Gold, a new musical featuring the songs of Jerry Garcia and Robert Hunter, opened at the Minetta Lane Theatre on October 29. Written by Michael Norman Mann and directed and choreographed by Rachel Klein, the musical features additional songs by Phil Lesh, Mickey Hart, Bob Weir, and Bill Kreutzmann, with musical supervision and arrangements by Jeff Chimenti.
Set in 1920s Maryland, Red Roses, Green Gold tells the fantastical and comedic tale of Jackson Jones and his family of swindlers as they gamble their way to love and riches. The company includes Brian Russell Carey as Dudley, Maggie Hollinbeck as Glendine, David Park as Liam, Michael McCoy Reilly as Jessup, Natalie Storrs as Melinda, Debbie Christine Tjong as Bertha, Michael Viruet as Mick, and Scott Wakefield as Jack.
