I Remember Mama begins performances tonight at Red Bank, New Jersey's Two River Theater. The production, featuring a cast of 10 veteran actresses all over the age of 60, was originally produced in New York by Transport Group Theatre Company. Jack Cummings III reprises his direction.

I Remember Mama, written by John Van Druten and based on Mama’s Bank Account by Kathryn Forbes, follows a working-class Norwegian family in turn-of-the-century San Francisco. The ensemble includes Barbara Andres (Drama Desk nomination for the Transport Group’s I Remember Mama), Alice Cannon (James Joyce’s The Dead), Lynn Cohen (Sex and the City), Rita Gardner (The Fantasticks), Marjorie Johnson (Dot), Mia Katigbak (Awake and Sing!), Susan Lehman (70, Girls, 70), Heather MacRae (Falsettos), Louise Sorel (Days of Our Lives), and Dale Soules (Orange Is the New Black).

The creative team includes scenic designer Dane Laffrey, costume designer Kathryn Rohe, and lighting designer R. Lee Kennedy.

Performances run through June 26 with a June 10 press opening.
