Ronald Keaton's Churchill to Extend New York Run Again

Off-Broadway's Churchill has announced that it will extend its New World Stages run yet again, this time through September 13. The new play opened on February 18 and was originally scheduled to close July 12. Kurt Johns directs.

Adapted and performed by Ronald Keaton, Churchill is based on the life and writings of one of the greatest wartime leaders of the 20th century. Set during March 1946, the play follows the prime minister as he prepares to deliver his "Iron Curtain" speech after receiving an invite from President Harry Truman to speak in the States at Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri.

Keaton, a mainstay of the Chicago stage, has appeared at several prominent theaters including the Goodman Theatre, the Chicago Shakespeare Theater, and the Drury Lane Oakbrook Terrace, among many others.

Scenic and lighting design for Churchill is by Jason Epperson, with projection design by Paul Deziel and sound design by Eric Backus.

Churchill is a joint production of the Greenhouse Theater Center, SoloChicago, and the Wendy and William Spatz Charitable Foundation, with the support and permission of the Churchill Centre.
