Roundabout Theatre Company announced a special benefit concert reading of Damn Yankees to take place at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre on Monday, December 11, at 7:30pm.

The evening will feature Whoopi Goldberg as Applegate, Golden Globe winner Maggie Gyllenhaal as Lola, and Tony and Academy Award winner James Earl Jones as Mr. Welch. Roundabout associate artist Kathleen Marshall (Anything Goes, The Pajama Game) will direct this one-night-only event. Proceeds from the benefit concert reading will support Roundabout's many programs and initiatives.

Inspired by the novel The Year the Yankees Lost the Pennant by Douglass Wallop, the musical features a score by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross, and a book by George Abbott and Wallop.
