The world premiere launches Roundabout Underground’s eighth season.
Casting has been announced for Roundabout Underground world premiere production of Little Children Dream of God, written by Jeff Augustin and directed by Giovanna Sardelli.
The play follows a soon-to-be mother, Sula, who has braved a perilous journey to the shores of Miami to escape her native Haiti. Determined to forge a better life for herself and her unborn son in America, Sula finds safety in an apartment building that shelters refugees in need.
The cast will feature Gilbert Cruz (Manuel), Dashiell Eaves (Trevor), Carl Hendrick Louis (Toussaint and Man), Maurice Jones (Joel), Chris Myers (Vishal), Deirdre O’Connell (Carolyn), Carra Patterson (Sula), and Crystal Lucas-Perry (Madison). The creative team includes Andrew Boyce (set design), Jennifer Caprio (costume design), Gina Scherr (lighting design), and M.L. Dogg (sound design).
Little Children Dream of God will begin previews January 22, 2015, in advance of an official February 17 opening, and will run through April 5, 2015. Performances will be held at Roundabout's 62-seat Black Box Theatre, at the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre.
