The world premiere will play at the Access Theatre.
Roust Theatre Company will present the world premiere of Homeless and How We Got That Way, a new play by Dan McCormick (The Morons), from October 22-November 14 at Access Theater. A press opening is scheduled for October 25. James Phillip Gates directs.
Homeless and How We Got That Way is a two-character one-act play that follows two veterans of homelessness, Eloise and Sidney. The two people have their world rocked by a vicious murder in their community that launches them on a journey to seek safe haven in each other.
The cast includes Richarda Abrams (In the Blood) as Eloise and Chicago actor Brian Hickey as Sidney. The show features scenic design by Kevin Kedroe and lighting design by Travis Sawyer.
Roust Theatre Company aims to challenge and inspire the audience and produce theater that makes a difference in the world. Roust believes it is the duty of theater "to break the grip of mass media, which dilutes the community consciousness."
