The Almeida Theatre's upcoming production of Shakespeare's Richard III, starring Ralph Fiennes in the title role and Vanessa Redgrave as Queen Margaret, will be broadcast live to movie theaters around the world on July 21. The event will launch Almeida Theatre Live, presented in partnership with Picturehouse Entertainment and produced by Illuminations Media, a new program which will give international audiences the opportunity to see Almeida productions filmed live onstage.
Richard III is directed by Rupert Goold. In addition to Fiennes and Redgrave, the cast includes David Annen, Joseph Arkley, Tom Canton, Daniel Cerqueira, Simon Coates, Susan Engel, James Garnon, Mark Hadfield, Scott Handy, Finbar Lynch, Aislín McGuckin, Joseph Mydell, Joshua Riley, Joanna Vanderham, Benedict Barker, Lukas Rolfe, Baxter Westby, Oliver Whitehouse, Osman Baig, Josh Collins, Lev Levermore, and Lucas Parish.
The production features set design by Hildegard Bechtler, costume design by Jon Morrell, and lighting by Jon Clark, with composition and sound by Adam Cork.
