The musical will play its last performance at DR2 Theatre next month.
Til Divorce Do Us Part: The Musical will conclude its 10-week engagement at the DR2 Theatre on April 13. Mark Waldrop directs the production, which features lyrics and choreography by Ruthe Ponturo and music by John Thomas Fischer.
The musical is based on the true story of Ponturo, the wife of a Broadway producer. When Ponturo's husband ended their decades-long marriage, she turned to her friends and embarked on a comic journey of self-discovery. The cast features John Thomas Fischer, Martin Landry, Erin Maguire, Dana Wilson, and Gretchen Wylder.
The production features a set by Mitchell Greenberg, costumes by Paloma Young and Ashley Rose Horton, lighting by Julie Duro, and sound by Nevin Steinberg.
Ruthe Ponturo has acted as well as taught dance and musical theatre. She has choreographed regional productions of A Little Night Music, West Side Story, and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and served as the director of the youth department at City Studio Dance Theatre.
According to the production, a national tour is soon to be announced.
