Casting has been announced for two special reading presentations of Bret Simmons and David Howard's new musical The First Gentleman on February 22. Nick Demos is set to direct.
The cast will feature Gerard Cannonico, Broadway veterans Justin Guarini (Romeo and Juliet), Rachel Bay Jones (Pippin) Michael Rupert (On the Town), and Brynn Williams (Bye Bye Birdie) as well as Emmy winner Sally Struthers. Completing the cast are Cheryl Daro, Charles Gray, Lance Guest, Olli Haaskivi, Lorinda Lisitza, Paolo Montalban, Eddie Pendergraft, Rick Roemer, Alyssa Simmons, and Hannah Simmons.
In The First Gentleman Russell Cassidy is a proud father and owner of a small construction firm whose life is turned upside down when his wife, long-shot candidate Governor Katheryn Cassidy (Jones), is elected the first female President of the United States.
