The production is currently having its pre-Broadway run in Chicago.
The first production photo from the pre-Broadway run of the new Pretty Woman: The Musical has been released. The image features stars Samantha Barks and Steve Kazee in glamorous opera-ready costumes.
Now in previews at Chicago's Oriental Theatre, Pretty Woman will head to Broadway's Nederlander Theatre, beginning previews July 20 ahead of an August 16 opening night.
With an original score by Grammy winner Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance, the musical features a book by Garry Marshall and the film's screenwriter, J.F. Lawton. The production will feature scenic design by David Rockwell; costume design by Gregg Barnes; lighting design by Kenneth Posner and Philip S. Rosenberg; sound design by John Shivers; hair design by Josh Marquette; and music supervision, arrangements, and orchestrations by Will Van Dyke.
In addition to Barks and Kazee, the company features Orfeh (Kit), Jason Danieley (Philip Stuckey), Eric Anderson (Mr. Thompson), and Kingsley Leggs (James Morse). Additional casting will be announced later.
Directed and choreographed by Jerry Mitchell, Pretty Woman: The Musical is produced by Paula Wagner, Nice Productions, LPO, New Regency Productions, Roy Furman, James L. Nederlander, Caiola Productions, Hunter Arnold, Stage Entertainment, and the John Gore Organization.
