Samuel French, the premier theatrical publishing and licensing company, announced that it will represent performance rights for the musical War Paint.

Inspired by Lindy Woodhead's book War Paint, as well as Ann Carol Grossman and Arnie Reisman's PBS documentary The Powder & the Glory, War Paint examines the ascent and rivalry of Helena Rubenstein and Elizabeth Arden, whose 50-year tug-of-war gave birth to an industry. The show features lyrics by Michael Korie, music by Scott Frankel, and book by Doug Wright.

War Paint premiered at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago and was followed by a run on Broadway last year. Patti LuPone and Christine Ebersole starred as Rubenstein and Arden, respectively, in the Broadway production, which was directed by Michael Greif.
