The Matthew Broderick-led American premiere of Wallace Shawn's Evening at the Talk House officially opened on Thursday, February 16, at Pershing Square Signature Center. The show, directed by Scott Elliott, began performances January 31 for its scheduled run through March 12. Check out photos from the red carpet in the gallery below.
Broderick plays Robert, a playwright celebrating the 10th anniversary of an underappreciated masterpiece with the show's original company.
Shawn, in addition to his work as playwright, stars as Dick. Completing the cast is Jill Eikenberry as Nellie, John Epperson as Ted, Larry Pine as Tom, Claudia Shear as Annette, Annapurna Sriram as Jane, and Michael Tucker as Bill.
The production features scenic design by Derek McLane, costume design by Jeff Mahshie, and lighting design by Jennifer Tipton. The drama premiered in 2015 at the National Theatre of Great Britain.
