La MaMa Honorary Chair Sarah Jessica Parker has been announced to host the company's annual gala, celebrating its 54th season, on November 2 at the Ellen Stewart Theatre. Proceeds from the gala will benefit the theater’s various programs and productions.
The event will honor film producer Joy Tomchin for her activism on behalf of the LGBTQ communities, Donn Russell for his commitment to and support of nontraditional theater, and Roberta Uno for her leadership in philanthropy and cultural diversity. Pua Ali’i ‘Ilima o Nuioka (Hula Halau), Joey Arias, Justin Vivian Bond, Bridget Everett, and Rufus Wainwright are scheduled for appearances and performances. Tony Award-winner Scott Wittman (Catch Me If You Can) will direct.
Honorary Chairs are Parker and Scott Wittman; Gala Chairs are Jeff Haley, Jennifer Ortega and Curtis McGraw Webster.
