Watch Alex Brightman and the stars of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s latest musical as they perform on TV.
Alex Brightman and the young musicians of Broadway's School of Rock took over Good Morning America on January 21 to offer a country-wide preview of Andrew Lloyd Webber's latest musical at the Winter Garden Theatre. Their choice of song was the rambunctious anthem "Stick It To The Man" — and we can guarantee that it'll be caught in your head for hours after you watch their performance. Check it out below.
Based on the hit 2003 film, School of Rock tells the story of a down-on-his-luck wannabe rock star named Dewey Finn, who poses as a substitute teacher at a prep school and enlists his fifth-graders to form a rock group and conquer Battle of the Bands. Laurence Connor directs the new musical, featuring a score by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Glenn Slater and a book by Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes.
Brightman leads the cast as Dewey Finn, alongside Sierra Boggess as Principal Rosalie Mullins. The supporting cast includes Spencer Moses as Ned, Mamie Parris as Patty, Evie Dolan as Katie, Carly Gendell as Marcy, Ethan Khusidman as Mason, Bobbi MacKenzie as Tomika, Dante Melucci as Freddy, Brandon Niederauer as Zack, Luca Padovan as Billy, Jared Parker as Lawrence, and Isabella Russo as Summer.
