Scott C. Sickles is the new artistic director of WorkShop Theatre Company, as of July 2009, replacing Timothy Scott Harris. In addition, Christina Romanello has been named artistic associate.
Sickles will preside over ongoing developmental programs offered by the WorkShop and is currently planning a three play 2009/10 season that begins in October with Next Year in Jerusalem, written by Dana Leslie Goldstein and directed by Robert Bruce McIntosh. The company will also present Recession Special, new plays inspired by the economic downturn and Cold Snaps, a winter one-act festival.
Sickles is a published author, dramaturg, teacher and alumnus of Carnegie Mellon University with an MFA in Playwriting. He served as company manager of Playwrights Horizons and previously helmed both Running Start Productions and Antipodes Theatrical.
