Lucy Teitler’s new play is directed by Kimberly Senior.
Second Stage Theatre has extended its New York premiere of Lucy Teitler’s Engagements, directed by Kimberly Senior. The production, opening August 4 at the McGinn/Cazale Theatre, will now conclude its run on August 20.
Engagements is described as follows: "It’s summer in New England and every weekend is someone else’s engagement party. The wildflowers, specialty cocktails, and artisanal appetizers are totally Instagram-worthy, but the people are not quite so perfect. One night, Lauren takes it into her own hands to make sure that her best friend doesn’t marry an inadequate suitor — a drunken mistake that incites a cascade of calamities, threatening to expose all of Lauren's secrets."
The company includes Jennifer Kim, Omar Maskati, Ana Nogueira, Michael Stahl-David, and Brooke Weisman. The production features scenic design by Wilson Chin, costumes by Beth Goldenberg, lighting design by Jen Schriever, and sound design by Ryan Rumery.
