Roundabout Theatre Company presents the world premiere of Lindsey Ferrentino’s new play.
Mamie Gummer and the rest of the cast of Roundabout Theatre Company's Ugly Lies the Bone met the press for the first time this morning. The world premiere, which is currently in rehearsals, is written by Lindsey Ferrentino and directed by Patricia McGregor. The production will begin preview performances on September 10 and open on October 13 at Roundabout Underground's Black Box Theatre, for a limited engagement scheduled through November 22.
Ugly Lies the Bone tells the story of Jess, a newly discharged soldier who returns to her Florida hometown and begins to use a virtual-reality video game to help combat the physical and emotional scars of her three tours in Afghanistan. The play is the first-ever recipient of a Special Citation of Excellence from the Laurents/Hatcher Foundation.
In addition to Gummer (Jess), the cast features Karron Graves (Kacie), Caitlin O'Connell (Voice, Their Mom), Chris Stack (Stevie), and Haynes Thigpen (Kelvin).
