Signature Theatre Sets Casting for Jesus Christ Superstar

Casting is set for the Signature Theatre production of Jesus Christ Superstar, directed by Joe Calarco. The Andrew Lloyd Webber-Tim Rice musical runs May 9-July 2.

Nicholas Edwards will head the cast as Jesus of Nazareth, with Ari McKay Wilford as Judas Iscariot and Natascia Diaz as Mary Magdalene. Edwards, Wilford, and Diaz are joined in the cast by Sherri L. Edelen as King Herod, Sam Ludwig as Annas, Michael J. Mainwaring as Peter, Awa Sal Secka as Simon Zealotes, Thomas Adrian Simpson as Caiaphas, and Bobby Smith as Pontius Pilate.

The ensemble includes Vincent Kempski, David Landstrom, Calvin McCullough, Solomon Parker III, Jobari Parker-Namdar, Chris Sizemore, Harrison Smith, Korinn Walfall, and Kara Tameika Watkins.

The production features choreography by Karma Camp, musical direction by William Yanesh, scenic design by Luciana Stecconi, lighting design by Jason Lyons, costume design by Frank Labovitz, sound design by Ryan Hickey, video design by Zach Borovay, and fight choreography by Casey Kaleba.
