Signature Theatre Company's revival of Charles Mee's Big Love will now begin performances on February 4 in the Irene Diamond Stage at the Pershing Square Signature Center. The romantic comedy, directed by Tina Landau, was originally scheduled to start its run on February 3, but lost rehearsal time because of recent inclement weather. The play will still open on February 23, and run through March 15.

Big Love is Mee's adaptation of The Danaids by Aeschylus, one of the world's oldest plays. The work follows 50 brides as they flee their 50 grooms and seek refuge in an Italian villa. Leading the company are Rebecca Naomi Jones as Lydia, Bobby Steggert as Nikos, Lynn Cohen as Bella, Ellen Harvey as Eleanor, Christopher Innvar as Piero, Nathaniel Stampley as Leo, Emmanuel Brown as Oed, Ryan-James Hatanaka as Constantine, Preston Sadeir as Giuliano, Stavey Sargeant as Thyona, and Libby Winters as Olympia.

The design team includes Brett Banakis (scenic design), Anita Yavich (costume design), Scott Zielinski (lighting design), Kevin O’Donnell (sound design), Austin Switser (projection design), and Rick Sordelet (fight direction).

While Charles Mee was Signature's 2007-08 playwright in residence, his plays Iphigenia 2.0, Queens Bouelvard (the musical), and Paradise Park were produced.
