How many connections are there between the fabled movie actor and Allison Janney?
"I read somewhere," Ouisa Kittredge says in John Guare's dark comedy Six Degrees of Separation, "that everybody on this planet is separated by only six other people. Six degrees of separation. Between us and everybody else on this planet."
That concept, which Guare certainly didn't pioneer but certainly helped popularize, eventually morphed into a delightful parlor game called Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon. The object was simple: connect any random actor to Bacon, who once claimed that he has worked with everyone in Hollywood, through six degrees or fewer. With the new Broadway revival of John Guare's play opening tonight at the Barrymore Theatre, we attempted to do just that with Guare, director Trip Cullman, and stars Allison Janney, John Benjamin Hickey, and Corey Hawkins.
The results are below.
