Soho Rep. and Ars Nova has extended the New York premiere of Futurity to November 15. The coproduction, which is now running at the Connelly Theater, was originally scheduled to close on November 8.

Futurity is a new musical by César Alvarez and the Lisps, directed by Soho Rep. artistic director Sarah Benson. The 13-member cast of actor-musicians includes Alvarez, Andrew R. Butler, Fred Epstein, Eric Farber, Eamon Goodman, Karen Kandel, Kristine Haruna Lee, Mia Pixley, Jessie Shelton, Kamala Sankaram, Darius Smith, Storm Thomas, and Sammy Tunis.

The story centers on two people who try to imagine their way out of impossible circumstances. Julian is a Civil War soldier dreaming of a technological utopia. Ada is a mathematical genius thousands of miles away. Together, they're going to invent a machine to end one of the darkest periods in our history.
