Spamilton Announces a Second New York Mounting

Following a nine-month run at The Triad, the Hamilton parody musical Spamilton will take up residence at the 47th Street Theatre/The Puerto Rican Traveling Theater beginning June 2, where the show will have an open run.

Spamilton (now running at Chicago's Royal George Theatre) will also make its West Coast debut at Center Theatre Group/Kirk Douglas Theatre. The Los Angeles mounting will run from November 5-December 31, with an official opening set for November 12. That production will launch a national tour with additional cities and dates to be announced.

The new iterations in Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles will see some updates as well. "We’re very excited about expanding the show a bit," Spamilton creator Gerard Alessandrini said. "We will also be adding up-to-date references to Hamilton, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and their impact on the current Broadway season. So look out Glenn Close, Bette Midler, and Evan Hansen!"

Alessandrini returns to the 47th Street Theater after having had successful engagements of Forbidden Broadway produced there from 2005-09, and again from 2012-13.

In addition to Alessandrini, the creative team of Spamilton includes Gerry McIntyre (choreography), Dustin Cross (costume design), Richard Danley and Fred Barton (musical arrangements), and Michael Cassara (casting director). The show is produced by John Freedson, Christine Pedi, David Zippel, and Gerard Alessandrini.
