The romantic comedy begins tonight at the Gil Cates Theater.
Geffen Playhouse's production of Stage Kiss starts its run this evening.
Art imitates life, when two long-lost loves are reunited in order to play two long-lost lovers. While they’re slow to learn their lines, they’re quick to argue, and even quicker to rekindle the old romance. The on-stage, back-stage farce examines the consequences of reality colliding with fiction.
Written by Sarah Ruhl and directed by Bart DeLorenzo, the show features Tim Bagley as The Director, Melody Butiu as Millicent/Laurie, Stephen Caffrey as The Husband, Barry Del Sherman as He, Glenne Headly as She, Emily James as Angela/Millie/Maid, and Matthew Scott Montgomery as Kevin/Butler/Doctor/Pimp.
The creative team includes Keith Mitchell (set design), David Kay Mickelsen (costume design), Lap Chi Chu (lighting design), John Ballinger (composer and sound design), Peter Katona (fight direction), and Jennifer Brienen (stage manager).
Performances will run through May 15.
