Stanley Tucci to Host New Season of PBS’ Independent Lens Series

Tony and Oscar nominee Stanley Tucci will host the new season of the long-running PBS series Independent Lens, according to Entertainment Weekly.

The series, which airs new dramas and documentaries by independent filmmakers, will return on October 8 at 10pm. Past hosts have included Mary-Louise Parker, Maggie Gyllenhall, Susan Sarandon, and Don Cheadle.

Tucci directed the 2010 Broadway revival of Lend Me a Tenor, and received a Tony nomination for his performance in Frankie & Johnnie in the Clair de Lune. He received a 2010 Oscar nomination for The Lovely Bones, and has appeared in numerous films including Julie and Julia, The Devil Wears Prada, and The Hunger Games.
