Hsu will star alongside Bill Irwin, Tom Sturridge, and Wallace Shawn.
Oscar nominee and Broadway vet Stephanie Hsu will lead a benefit reading of Sarah Ruhl’s play Eurydice for Signature Theatre on April 24 at the Pershing Square Signature Center.
Hsu, of Everything Everywhere All at Once and Be More Chill, will take on the title role, alongside Bill Irwin as Eurydice’s Father, Tom Sturridge as Orpheus, and Wallace Shawn as A Nasty Interesting Man/Lord of the Underworld. Complete casting is still to be announced.
Eurydice will be helmed by its original director, Les Waters. In the play, Ruhl reimagines the classic Orpheus and Eurydice myth from its heroine’s perspective, as she journeys through the underworld and reunites with her late father as she struggles to remember her lost love.
