The New York Musical Theatre Festival will launch this season with Meeting Our Heroes: A Tribute to the Composers Who Inspire Us, a special opening-night event, at The Laurie Beechman Theatre on July 7.

The event will feature four of musical theater's most celebrated composers being honored by four emerging songwriters with an evening of songs and stories. Alexander Sage Oyen will celebrate John Bucchino, Danny Abosch will celebrate Stephen Flaherty, Joe Kinosian and Kellen Blair will celebrate Charles Strouse, and Madeline Myers will celebrate Michael John LaChiusa. Special performers will be announced at a later date.

Meeting Our Heroes will be hosted by Jennifer Ashley Tepper, with Paul Saroba serving as music director.
