Andrew Lloyd Webber's new Broadway musical School of Rock held its opening night at the Winter Garden Theatre on December 6.
Alex Brightman leads the cast as Dewey Finn, alongside Sierra Boggess as Principal Rosalie Mullins. The supporting cast includes Spencer Moses as Ned, Mamie Parris as Patty, Evie Dolan as Katie, Carly Gendell as Marcy, Ethan Khusidman as Mason, Bobbi MacKenzie as Tomika, Dante Melucci as Freddy, Brandon Niederauer as Zack, Luca Padovan as Billy, Jared Parker as Lawrence, and Isabella Russo as Summer. Directed by Laurence Connor, the musical features a score by Lloyd Webber and Glenn Slater and a book by Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes.
Following the performance, the company and VIP guests — a list that included Fleetwood Mac icons Mick Fleetwood and Steve Nicks; Downton Abbey favorites Hugh Bonneville, Elizabeth McGovern, and Jim Carter; The Wiz Live!'s Shanice Williams, and many more, headed to the Hard Rock Café to celebrate.
