Sunday in the Park, With Jake Gyllenhaal and Annaleigh Ashford, Announces Full Cast

Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s legendary musical will inaugurate the newly renovated Hudson Theatre.

Full casting has been announced for the new Broadway revival of Sunday in the Park With George, starring Academy Award nominee Jake Gyllenhaal and Tony Award winner Annaleigh Ashford. The production, which will reopen the historic Hudson Theatre, will have a 10-week run, beginning February 11. Opening night is set for February 23, with the run scheduled to conclude on April 23.

With Gyllenhaal as Georges Seurat and Ashford as Dot, the Pulitzer Prize-winning musical by Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine will also feature Tony Award nominee Brooks Ashmanskas (Mr./Charles), Jenni Barber (Celeste #2/Elaine), Tony Award nominee Phillip Boykin (Boatman/Lee), Mattea Marie Conforti (Louise), Erin Davie (Yvonne/Naomi), Claybourne Elder (Soldier/Alex), Tony Award nominee Penny Fuller (Old Lady/Blair), Jordan Gelber (Louis/Billy), Tony Award winner Robert Sean Leonard (Jules/Bob), Liz McCartney (Mrs./Harriet), Tony Award winner Ruthie Ann Miles (Frieda/Betty), Ashley Park (Celeste #1/Waitress), Jennifer Sanchez (Nurse), David Turner (Franz/Dennis), Max Chernin, MaryAnn Hu, Tony Award nominee Michael McElroy, Jaime Rosenstein, Julie Foldesi, and Andrew Kober.

This mounting of the Pulitzer Prize-winning musical by Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine originated as a concert at New York City Center in October 2016. Sarna Lapine directs.

The production features set design by Beowulf Boritt, projection design by Tal Yarden, costume design by Clint Ramos, lighting design by Ken Billington, sound design by TKai Harada, co-projection design by Christopher Ash, hair and wig design by Cookie Jordan, make-up design by Joe Dulude II, music coordination by Seymour Red Press, orchestrations by Michael Starobin, production supervision by Peter Lawrence, musical staging by Ann Yee, and music direction by Chris Fenwick.
