Ginsburg will take on Shakespeare later this year.
Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg will add "actress" to her resume this summer, when she makes an appearance in an upcoming production of Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice in Italy.
According to The Washington Post, Ginsburg will make a cameo in a Venice-based production as a judge presiding over Shylock's trial near the end of the drama. The production will be part of a city-wide commemoration of the Jewish Ghetto Quincentennial.
Directed by Karin Coonrod, the production will run July 26-31, in a presentation of Compagnia de’ Colombari and Ca’Foscari University of Venice. The international company will also feature New York stage regulars including Reg E. Cathey (House of Cards) and Linda Powell (The Christians).
