New York City
Foster is joined by past costars Megan McGinnis and Colin Donnell for the show.
Two-time Tony winner Sutton Foster and The New York Pops take the stage at the Forest Hills Stadium in Queens, New York tonight, August 6, with a concert at the open-air venue.
The concert comes on the heels of Foster's Carnegie Hall solo debut with the 78-piece orchestra, which took place March 13. That concert, like this one, will be music-directed and conducted by Pops leader Steven Reineke. It will feature tunes from Broadway musicals and some of Foster's favorite numbers. Joining Foster for the show are her past costars Megan McGinnis (Little Women, Daddy Long Legs) and Colin Donnell (Anything Goes, Violet).
The orchestra will establish a summer series at the outdoor venue and offer affordable concerts as well as an expansion of its Kids in the Balcony program, offering over 1,000 children an opportunity to learn about and enjoy live music for free. The night after Foster performs will be a concert featuring Pink Martini.
Foster's many Broadway credits include The Drowsy Chaperone, Young Frankenstein, Shrek The Musical, and Thoroughly Modern Millie. She is also known for the television shows Bunheads and Younger. Foster starred earlier this summer in the Encores! Off-Center production of The Wild Party.
