It's hard to believe that the man who directed the original Broadway production of Stephen Sondheim's Company also directed Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera. Yet that's exactly what happened thanks to the versatility and showmanship of producer and director Harold Prince. A 21-time Tony Award winner, few have done more than Prince to reshape the Broadway stage over the last six decades.

A new musical compendium celebrating his work titled Prince of Broadway is now making its much-anticipated world premiere at Tokyo's Tokyu Theatre Orb under the production of Umeda Arts Theater. Prince codirects with Susan Stroman (The Producers). Ramin Karimloo (Les Misérables) , Tony Yazbeck (On the Town), Emily Skinner (Side Show), Josh Grisetti (It Shoulda Been You), and Shuler Hensley (Waiting for Godot) are among the Broadway big hitters who flew out to Japan to be a part of it.
