Tennessee Williams and World-Premiere Plays Join the 2015-16 McCarter Theatre Season

Princeton, New Jersey's McCarter Theatre Center has announced its 2015-16 season lineup, featuring a mix of world premieres and American classics.

The season will open with Tennessee Williams' Baby Doll, adapted for the stage by Pierre Laville and McCarter artistic director Emily Mann from Williams' 1956 film of the same name. Mann helms the American-premiere production. Performances will run from September 11-October 11.

Ken Ludwig's A Comedy of Tenors will follow, running from October 13-November 1. The play — a world-premiere sequel to Lend Me a Tenor — will be directed by Stephen Wadsworth and coproduced by the Cleveland Play House.

August Wilson's Pulitzer Prize-winning play The Piano Lesson will then run from January 8-February 7, 2016. Jade King Carroll will make her McCarter directorial debut with the production — the fourth of Wilson’s 10-play Pittsburgh Cycle to be produced by the McCarter Theatre Center.

Agatha Christie's classic murder mystery The Mousetrap will follow with a run from March 8-27, 2016. Adam Immerwahr will direct.

Sharyn Rothstein (By the Water) will then close the season with the world premiere of her new play All the Days, directed by Emily Mann. The story follows Miranda, who has done everything in her power to create a life completely different than the one she came from. A week before a family celebration, however, Miranda suffers a lapse of judgment and invites her eccentric and overbearing mother to stay. Performances will run from April 29-May 29, 2016.
