Walnut Street Theatre will present Ethel!, written by and starring Broadway veteran Terry Burrell, February 21-March 11 at the theater’s Independence Studio on 3. Kenneth Roberson will direct.
Ethel! tells the story of the saucy, talented star Ethel Waters, who grew up in difficult circumstances in Chester, PA in the early 1900s but found a way to make a life for herself.
The design team will include Maura Roche (set design), Shon Causer (lighting design), Rita Squitiere (costume design), and Zachary Brown (sound design). Aaron Graves will be the musical and vocal director.
